Welcome to Bita Psychology on Barkers Road

Bita Psychology Hawthorn is located on Barkers Road, close to Glenferrie Road, offering a central and accessible space for those living in Melbourne or coming from the CBD. This space invites speaking, reflection, and insight, with Bita carefully listening to what patients say during sessions.

At different points in life, many individuals encounter recurring struggles that leave them asking, "Why do I keep doing this?" or "How do I know what I truly want?" These questions often emerge as part of a process of self-discovery, where clarity and understanding are sought. Common concerns include feelings of anger, sadness, confusion, or struggles with identity and sexuality. Challenges may also arise in relationships, whether with a partner, family, colleagues, or in facing overwhelming fears and anxieties.

In Bita's practice, clients can work through various challenges, including complex family dynamics, past trauma, and life crises. At times, the focus is on understanding how early childhood experiences have influenced current behaviors and emotional responses, such as issues with guilt or feelings of emptiness. For others, it may involve thoughts of perfectionism, dependency, or pressures related to parenting, migration, or legal matters.

For those seeking a psychologist in Hawthorn, Bita provides a space to reflect on concerns and speak about recurring issues that may be dominating your life and create a way forward towards meaninful change.

Hawthorn Psychoanalytic Practice Connected with International Expertise

Situated in Hawthorn, Bita Riazati's psychoanalytic practice offers a distinctive approach to mental health, grounded in the rich tradition of Lacanian psychoanalysis. Founded by the eminent French psychiatrist and psychoanalyst Jacques Lacan, this approach builds upon and extends the pioneering work of Sigmund Freud. While several psychoanalytic practitioners operate in Melbourne, Bita's practice stands out through her membership with respected international psychoanalytic institutions and her broad cultural and professional experience.

As a member of international psychoanalytic Forums, Bita engages with a global community of analysts and scholars. Her supervision is guided by an analyst member from the Lacanian school based in Paris (originally founded by Lacan as the École Freudienne de Paris), ensuring that her practice is informed by the latest psychoanalytic methods and contemporary clinical research. Additionally, Bita's ongoing personal analysis (spanning over ten years) and case supervision align her work with the highest standards of ethical practice, benefiting her patients.
